WaterAid - Time's up
The climate crisis is exacerbating gender inequality. More than 50% of urban women and girls in developing countries live without at least one of the following: access to clean water, durable housing, improved sanitation facilities, a sufficient living area – which are more at risk because of climate change.
Women and girls are key to solving the climate crisis. Every day, they are coming up with practical solutions to keep their families safe. From fixing taps and pumps, to working with community groups on water monitoring or management. Women and girls are leading the response.
